Martin Michel | Artist Biography
Martin Michel is a contemporary photographer whose work explores the themes of night, urban architecture, and the memory of the elements. A graduate of ESAD Saint-Étienne with honors for his narrative approach, he has developed a singular practice where the image becomes a visual signifier open to interpretation.
His artistic practice centers on the temporality of the night, exploring the nuances of chiaroscuro, urban environments, and the "memory of water." Through his lens, he gathers a collection of visual signs that he reinterprets to create unique sensory experiences. His research into color has notably led him to experiment with immersive projections in darkrooms, allowing the viewer to truly feel the essence of light.
